About Us
Drew and Ashley Owen are the owners of Centennial Wine and Spirits. In 2000 they joined Ashley's mom and Dad (then owners of Centennial) as store managers. Then in 2002, the Louisville Chamber of Commerce awarded Centennial Small Business of the Year. In January of 2009 Drew and Ashley purchased the store from Ashley's parents, who still help out at the store as part time and holiday staff. If you are lucky you may catch Ashley's grandma, who stops in occasionally with freshly baked cake.
Drew and Ashley both began their journey with fine wine, spirits and beer at a young age. Both held jobs in fine dining while attending college — this is where they originally developed their passion and appreciation for the alcohol beverage industry.
In October of 2001 Drew and Ashley flew to Orlando Florida where they passed the Sommelier certificate course offered by the International Guild of Master Sommeliers. They enjoy traveling to various wine regions, breweries and distilleries around the world, attending courses and product tastings to gain more knowledge in their field and passing these experiences on to their customers.
At Centennial Wine and Spirits, it's not just about selecting the perfect beverage for the night but also about the shopping experience. We pride ourselves in customer service and want to create an enjoyable experience for each of our customers. We truly want to share our love and passion for wine, fine craft brews and micro spirits with our customers.
Meet the Shop Dog
Aldamar von Heavy D. (Aldy for short) joined the Owen family in 2008 and quickly picked up the trade at Centennial. He has since radpidly climbed the company ladder to earn the title of Centennial's Favorite Sunday Employee.
In his free time, Aldy enjoys playing fetch, patrolling his neighborhood, and hiking with Drew and Ashley. His favorite beer is Avery Ellie's Brown Ale from Boulder and prefers Yard Dog Red from Australia when he is the mood for vino. Stop in on Sundays for a high five, shake, woof or beverage suggestion from Aldy.
